INDICATIONS AND USES:

Pro Arimidex is a medication used in addition to other treatments for breast cancer.
Specifically, it is used for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. It has also been used to prevent breast cancer in those at high risk.. It is taken orally.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

Pro Arimidex should not be given to patients during pregnancy, breastfeeding, patients with hepatic disease, and pre-menopausal women.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOCY:

Pro Arimidex reversibly binds to the aromatase enzyme, and through competitive inhibition blocks the conversion of androgens to estrogens in peripheral (extragonadal) tissues.

ADVERSE REACTIONS / SIDE EFFECTS:

Bone weakness has been associated with Pro Arimidex, Acne, constricted pupils and water retention have also been attributed with use of this anti-estrogen.

DRUG INTERACTION:

Pro Arimidex can interact with other drugs such as tamoxifen, methadone, aripiprazole, hydrocodone, etc. Your physician should be informed about the drugs you are taking, or you will take, including the drugs available only for prescription and free drugs.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

For adults, one tablet (1 mg) to be taken orally per day.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Store at room temperature <25° C.
Protect from sunlight.
Keep out of reach of children.
